What is a DVD Burner?
A DVD burner is a device that records on blank recordable
dvd discs. DVD stands for digital versatile disc. Common formats used in
dvd burners are dvd-r and dvd+r. The burner can be a stand alone device
or a module that installs in a computer in the same way as a cd-rom burner.
Unlike VHS and other videotape formats, DVDs can be burned faster than real
time.
Note that some older DVD burners will
not record video, only data.
